The back yard of the family home doesn’t actually have a lot of space but it’s pretty well full utilized. We’re growing things from lettuce to grapes. Today the grapes were just at the stage where they’re almost ready to eat but not exactly. The transition. They were all going purple but the green was still there and I thought it looks really nice. It was also just a nice way to test out the bokeh of my 50mm F1.8 OSS for the Nex camera system.

So it’s fun what you can find sitting in your car. I found this guy. Looked like one of those dandelion seeds minus the fluff and with legs. Ok so it looked nothing like a dandelion seed, but it’s some kind of seed, probably.

So I popped in a new pack of polaroids into my 4x5 speed graphic today and went on a bike ride with my brother. It was getting fairly dark and it was not looking good for ISO 100 film but we made it work. This was just off a path we normally bike around the lot was previously abandoned but it looks like there are new tenants doing some farming and all. The shot itself was done on my home made polaroid back. It’s pretty lefty and works like a normal one with some clunkiness that come from DIY things. Anyways the other thing I did was tilt it to seperate the image into 2 parts, bokeh and sharpness. Guess which is which.

So I went out to take photos with my friend Michelle today :) We explored a bit of richmond hill and discovered that some of the conservation areas have an entry fee so we went to one that didn’t The part was actually a bit underwhelming because the pond/body of water that was there stank and looked like it was mostly dry. On the plus side there were baby catfish :D They’re awesome.

Any way this is probably my favourite photo of the day there are 2 other from the area in the comments sections. So again

Bokehrama’s can be tough things to do. They’re even tougher on smaller objects like say a bee. Originally this was planned to be a 10 shot deal but there was a bit of wind and I didn’t think twice to bring my tripod out so combined factors made this only a 3 shot bokehrama. Hopefully the next time till be better.

Lovely stuff in the backyard. Raspberries are probably the most lovely. They just taste sooo damn good.

You know how I was going on about a guard bird the other day? Well this was one of the precious things it was guarding. Very cute! Huge Eye Brows.

Interesting today. I was left to my own devices. My parents had left for Ottawa and my Brother had started his road trip so I’m at home alone. I went outside and sat in the backyard. It was great. Sitting on a bench listening to top gear enjoying the day. I noticed how nice it was and ran up to grab my camera that is when I noticed a few birds just staying around the area. I was confused it looked like they were guarding something and after a walk about I figured out what. They’re little bird-lets? Their babies. So I took a quick photo and retreated back to my bench to relax while they did their parental duties.

So My brother and I were out today prepping one of the cars for his road trip when we turned to the left and noticed a few of these little bumjoined insects on the flowers in the garden. I was wondering what these things were and I still wonder. I have no clue why they are Bumjoined, I can only assume it’s some sort of act to procreate. Whatever the reason can you imagine the conversations the little guys are having?

I think it’d go like this:

Bug 1: Ok Jenkins we’re going to go forward now ok, GO!
Bug 1 and 2: OUCH SHIT OMG.
Bug 1: I MEANT MY FORWARD NOT YOURS OK OK LETS TRY THIS AGAIN. GO!
Bug 2: I think we’re getting the hang of this now ok I see some tasty food, let’s go left.
Bug 1: Ok wait wait wait wait, who’s left let’s get this clear.
Etc. etc

Don’t get these guys started on flying, I imagine that just fails to work completely.
